The Romans and the Greeks played a game similar to soccer. The Romans called it  Harpastum or ball and the Greeks called it Episkyros or game. Both games, you have to kick the ball across the field on the opposing team's boundary lines to score. The team were much bigger than they are today. Both team had 27 players on each team.
